Traineeship - In Detail

National Qualifications Through Traineeships At Miss Maud

The Miss Maud Academy can help you gain nationally recognised qualifications through a Traineeship in Hospitality.

Competency based traineeships are designed to be flexible and delivered on the job.

What Is A Traineeship?

A Traineeship is a partnership arrangement involving a contract of training between an employer and a trainee.

Traineeships combine structured training and employment, and lead to a nationally recognised qualification through the Australian Quality Training Framework. Traineeships are very similar to Apprenticeships, but are available in industries and occupations where traditional apprenticeships are not. National qualifications of Certificate II & III in Hospitality are available through the Miss Maud Group.

It is paid employment whilst learning on the job.

Employee Traineeship

How Long Will The Traineeship Take?

Anything from 6-12 months for Certificate II and the same for Certificate III, so you will need to make a personal commitment to the traineeship process.

An employee based traineeship, with the outcome of Certificate II in Hospitality, may last from 1-2 years depending on the amount of working hours put in by the trainee, so a commitment to your employment at Miss Maud is necessary.

How Much Will I Be Paid?

As an employee of Miss Maud you will be paid your allocated hourly wage. Your wage is not deducted or subsidised for being part of the traineeship.

With all Traineeships whether School Based or Employee Based, the following questions apply...

Where Does The Training Take Place?

Our traineeships are all conducted "on the job", with NO after hours training.

Your store manager will ensure that you have exposure to the different roles in the store in order to gain the skills and experience required for achieving your certificate.

Do You Have Any Previous Qualifications?

Skills Recognition is the term used to describe a number of assessment processes that formally recognise competencies (skills, knowledge and attitudes) an individual has acquired through formal or informal learning, work experience and/or life experience.

We Are Committed! Are You?

Our commitment to you is that we will arrange, provide and pay for the training. The whole arrangement will not cost you a cent.

Your commitment to Miss Maud, your school and to yourself is to complete the certificate, including the easy course workbooks and the "on the job" experience.

How Will I Be Assessed?

You will be assessed:

  • in your store/outlet by your supervisor or manager and the Training Coordinator
  • by your workbooks handed in to the school
  • by your HGT assessor who will also provide feedback and input

The assessment can be conducted in various ways:
