On Saturday May 13, the Swedish Ship Götheborg entered Fremantle harbour on its historical voyage from Sweden to China.
An unexpected surprise for the crew of the Götheborg was an excited fleet of Miss Maud seafarers donning viking helmets complete with matching swords. Miss Maud employees of the bakehouse, hotel, restaurant and pastry houses could be heard crying ‘Välkommen’ to the Swedish crew as their bright yellow catamaran escorted the tall ship from sea to port.
The Götheborg will be mooring in Fremantle for a 12 day stopover during which time it is open to the public.
