We’d like to share some of these Swedish special events and traditions with you. Enjoy this little bit of Swedish Soul and come and experience something a little different with us at Miss Maud.

The Götheborg's Epic Voyage

May 2006 : The Götheborg's Epic Voyage

We celebrate the arrival of the magnificent
SWEDISH SHIP GÖTHEBORG

in Fremantle on 13th May 2006 for a 12 day stopover!

The Götheborg, an exact replica of the 18th century sailing vessel, is on a historical two-year voyage from Sweden to China reliving epic journeys first made over 250 years ago.

This large merchant sailing vessel brought immense riches back from Sweden to China in the 18th century. On 12 September 1745, the Götheborg sank with her entire cargo just outside her homeport, Gothenburg, Sweden. The wreck lived on in popular memory and gave rise to this incredible dream of re-constructing the Götheborg using authentic materials on a scale of 1:1.
