Christmas in Sweden is a magical time of the year, celebrating both Christmas and the festival of light, and making gingerbread is as traditional as decorating your tree!!
Dating back to the 13th century, modern Gingerbread making has become a family favourite and true Art form….. from simple designs with homemade dough, to elaborate decorations made of this delicious sweet treat appearing all over the world.
Here at Miss Maud, we love this tradition and it has been close to Miss Mauds heart since she can remember, with her own family meeting every Christmas for a Gingerbread party….. And so the magic began, and in 2016 we launched the first Miss Maud gingerbread party at the Miss Maud Restaurant.
12 lucky kids aged between 6 – 10 won the chance to join Miss Maud and make, bake and decorate some beautiful Gingerbread houses and to roll and cut some irresistible Christmas Gingerbread shapes and figures.
The Party will become a permanent fixture on the Miss Maud Calendar of events with Next year’s party already in the planning stages, so sign up to our Miss Maud eClub and follow us on Facebook for more information how to win your place in this new taste of Swedish tradition!!
